WEDNESDAY APRIL 12 2006
Mere Wednesday. Underwhelming, underperforming Wednesday. Went to the office, wrote a column – nothing was working at home, since I had G. Burly Mofo & sidekick working on the Water Feature, and Jasper sat by the door and whined in distress. So I wrote it at the office, which I usually don’t do. Sometimes I write it here, mail it to myself, then go to the office and input it at my desk, just to keep my hand in. Picked up Gnat from school and made a mess o’ chicken, marinated in Mrs. Dash sauce. It’s new! It has no MSG! It bites donkey shank! Really: it smelled like some sort of industrial lubricant. Mixed it with penne pasta (“It’s not mostaciolli, but we can’t quite say why”) and tossed it with olive oil. The dog liked it.
Dial-tone brain all day, and after the last two days of overdrive, that’s fine. I’ll have to quit here, because I have another column to do before I sleep. Apologies, but I’ve spent the last four hours staring at a screen working on something for tomorrow. I tried to write something here; honest, I did. Spent 30 minutes on a long a quasi-FAQ, but Gawd, it’s dull. So I’ll spare you that today, and force it on you tomorrow.
On the other hand, I was taunted and cajoled and flattered in a Fark thread! I love that. It’s a peculiar life, I tell you.
More tomorrow, I promise. New Quirk, as usual.
Oh, and the Water Feature? By popular demand: a movie.
