Even if I was in a writing mood now, which Im not, it would be impossible; Gnat is putting on a gymnastics show and I am obliged to watch and comment. And I have to file a column by noon and get us off to school. After that Ive no idea; Im written out for a while. Time for pictures, then. Wandering around downtown last Sunday I snapped a few shots. Heres the Foshay tower behind the International Center.

And heres something quite old: the original door for the Handicraft Guild Building, an Arts & Crafts association built in 1907.

Now the door leads to an appliance store. The building has historic designation now, which is good, I suppose. This style and size used to dominate and define downtown; now theyre rare. But the building itself isnt much. The retail tenants are rather low-budget. Maybe Ill get some more shots of the interior today; meanwhile you can look at these, from the Minnesota Historical Society.
