 Ladies and Gentlemen, today was a day. No school, no errands, no leaving the house (tied to the copy desk until 4:40) – so it was one long gala festival of Daddee and daughter, complete with munchkin scene-acting, imaginary visits to Horsey Paperland (whatever the hell that is), book reading, watercolor painting, and so forth, on and on from eight to six. Pure heaven. Somewhere in between the amusements I finished one column and started another; after my wife got home and whisked Gnat off to the gym I wrote a third, and buffed the weekly addition to this site.
It’s an Institute of Regrettable Food addition. I can’t help it; I love these things. It’s where this site really began, after all. Once a year I take a crack at redesigning it, but I can’t; what it is, it is, and it works. This is the most substantial update in some time (11 pages!) and has some boring stuff about commercial product design that shows I’m obviously taking this whole thing too seriously. In any case, here’s the Wednesday update. Enjoy.
