KNICKERBOCKER HOTEL

It now goes by the evocative name of "6 Times Square." Wikipedia:

Built by John Jacob Astor IV (1864-1912) as a showcase of luxury in a time of prosperity, the hostelry was destined to close its doors only 15 years later due to financial decline. The building was later home to Newsweek magazine (1940–1959) and after major restoration in 1980, is now used for garment showrooms and offices.

It was also home to the King Cole Bar, which had murals by Maxfield Parrish.
