PARAMOUNT HOTEL
Stayed here a f ew times; small and pretentious, but well located. Also, tiny rooms. I should note that the rooms were infinitesimal in proportions.
Famous Paramount Grill indeed:
The Paramount Hotel Grill, a restaurant within the hotel, hosted jazz performances from the 1930s onwards. At the height of their fame in 1931, the Memphis Stompers performed at the Paramount Hotel. Charlie Barnet led a band there from 1932 onwards.
Later it became the Diamond Horseshoe, and that club was the basis for a movie of the same name.
