Ann Arbor has the University; it also had the University Motel. Gone now, it seems. Pity – but the interiors wouldn’t have survived anyway. That’s the lobby above, complete with carefully placed matching cushions and the classic old Oasis drinking fountain. (They had that nifty white switch that had juuuust the right amount of resistance.)
Standard design: a big mirror to double the illusion of space, and a thick curtain to block out the world and all it represented.
