He's moved to Coral records now - this was his first record for the label in 1960. This one is pure 60s: it has a chorus. Yes, a chorus and orchestra "directed by Charles Bud Dant." Says the liner notes:

"Almost gone are the player pianos . . . but not the piano players. Not by a long shot. Not while there's a big fellow around with a paradoxical name, a derby hat, a vest that would stand out during a 4th of July finale, and more rhythm in his ten flying fingers than in many an entire orchestra."

See? The outfit is the brand.

"Daddy," the first cut, was written by Bobby Troup, who - among other things - would later play a doctor on the Jack Webb-produced TV show "Emergency."
