TOMAH Wisconsin

Tomah used to mean one thing for me: where the bus stopped on the way to Chicago. But it stopped on the highway, not in town. Too bad: nice little downtown. Note the mauled bank in the center-right.

Frank King, who did the marvelous "Gasoline Alley" strip, lived here from the age of 4 to 18, and they're proud of him, even though he left for Minneapolis right after high school. He's buried in Tomah, though. So you can go home again.
