The cornice has been covered, perhaps because it was shedding bricks. The hotel is closed and the cafe's long gone. The storefronts smothered.
The old view had life. The modern view tells you that nothing happens here anymore. I'm sure the hotel out by the state highway is much nicer than this joint, and its conveniences are numerous.
I'd still like one night here, in the time of angled parking. |
