How far we've come.

It took a while to get some information - had to go all the way to the second page on the name of the owner, Armand Devigne. Some history is here, if you're interested - he had another place called the Chalon Mart.

This page says it was known as a "Family Restaurant" and had the Eiffel Tower on the matchbook.

The online translater says "Chalon" means "Trawl-net." Sounds better if you don't know that.
