Renderings such as these always make the buildings look taller, sleeker, a crisp slab of machinistic perfection. The end result is usually a little more prosaic. I was surprised to find that the architects were Holabird, Root and Burgee - that's a remarkable collision of architectural history right there.
Note the see-through corners - according to the rules laid down by the Lever House and other buildings in the style, the building was supposed to be a translucent slab.
Didn't work out that way.
