It was the first one to go, and no one was sad to say goodbye. At the paper's height, it housed HR and other bureaucratic aspects of the empire. Then the hard times came. For a while online was upstairs, which was grimly appropriate - not only not in the newsroom, but not even in the same building.
It's one of the few buildings downtown I watched go up, and watched go down. My office window looked directly across the street, and I got it all. |
