Yes, another Sands. As if no word quite matched its luxurious and alluring mystique. This is actually the Desert Sands, in Big Springs.

If they named this place the Desert Sands, I’m guessing the Springs weren’t that Big.

It appears to have been lost to the relentless , implacable forces of time; the address comes back a s a Super 8, but it's the sort of structure that suggests the original was razed. Same with the restaurant; there's an illegible copy of a puff piece in the local newspaper from the 60s online, but little else.

The people who remembered these things are not the people who thought they should be written down and put on the internet. I mean, it was just a restaurant.
