It lived at 347 East Main, and it was indeed downtown. It's gone - or reconfigured beyond recognition. The idea of a "downtown motel" had a brief vogue, and brought modern convenience at a price that might have exceeded the big hotels, but promised a brighter stay.

Those big hotels were tired and old. This was fresh.
