There's nothing much to say about Pete. He's made of plywood. He never quite got over the thought that he might have spent his days being sawed and pierced with nails, and this gives him a sad, nervous quality. But he is very smooth and does not contain much formaldehyde. Well, not a lot, anyway. All right, he's soaked with the stuff. So what? No one lives forever.
