Plastic Man was the creation of a somewhat troubled artist named Jack Cole. In Cole's hands, it was brilliantly rendered.
These are not Cole's hands. I don't think these are even Cole's feet. But at least Plas got star billing here; the rest of the characters are the usual B-league losers, with Firebrand (secret power: great at accessories), Phantom Lady (always in the bathroom when the check comes), the Human Bomb (able to blow himself up and have other people explain it as a reaction to imperialism), #711, who was awake 24 hours a day and could pour strong, bitter, impossibly hot coffee out of his nipples, and - hey, it's another Spirit knockoff! Except this one went to law school. |
