Starting up again, getting into the groove; these are more like podcasts with a Diner name than actual Diner shows. For completists only.

This is the year the internet version started to work – for me, anyway. Your experience may vary.

Some of the highlight episodes were the “24” and “DaVinci Code” parodies, and like all parodies, I’m sure they’ve aged extremely well. There are plot points in the July- August sequence that will probably pop up again, so you might want to endure that tripe to get up to speed.

It became a bit difficult to produce as many in 07 due to unusual job turmoil and increased work demands elsewhere. The first ten episodes are a series that began as a lark - a jape! - and turned into the longest metaphor for job uncertainty and downsizing ever attempted in podcast form. Just to bring you up to speed: the newspaper for which I worked had been sold to mysterious new owners, and somehow this spilled into the Diner. As you'll see.

2008 continues the unfortunate move to fortnightly Diners, given the added work. I have to do these days. (It's called "Employment!!" And we like it.) But here they are. This year the Diner's new owners continue to struggle for ways to make their investment pay, turning the Diner into a variety of venues.

2009 was a dark time for the Diner. Not because anything bad happened; it's just so little happened at all. But at the end of the year it came back. It's like we never went away!

2010 was somewhat better - as you can tell, it was the usual end-of-the-year revival, on our way to a goal of weekly - albeit shorter - Diners in 2011.

Failed at that, alas.

2011 And the frequency continued to diminsh, as the need to do the Diners faded in my heart.

2012 But there's always a Holiday Diner - Halloween and Christmas, in this case.
