It’s a remarkable building - almost no ornamentation or historical allusions aside from some Romanesque touches on the lower floors. This wasn't the main style in 1924, but it was acceptable - and lauded by the Moderns who thought that stripped-down structures like this expressed some essential truth about the building’s form.
