Ah, the legend of Zenda. The biggest dance floor downtown - and hence doomed once tastes shifted, upkeep become too high, and the property was eyed by developers.
Fun fact: in 1943, the "White Gardenia Murder" victim, which some trace to the Black Dahlia killer, danced here the night before her death.
Strangers always welcome. There's something a bit unsettling about that. And the ad's design makes it look as though the Zenda featred dancing, dining, cocktails, and strangers. Which it probably did.
