She got her start working at the skating troupe in a hotel. Those were the days when people went to hotels to watch skating.

They don't do that anymore.

Her partner was Roy Shipstad, who'd go on to be part of the famous team of Shipstad and . . . that other guy. Anyway, they ran the Ice Capades, and (JOHNSON, that's it, Shipstad and Johnson) would run them for years. But we'll get to that.
