Diner #1 The First Attempt. Something I banged together just to DO IT, instead of endlessly worrying how it could be perfect. It's a sixteen-minute segment on the various introductions of the old "Suspense" radio show. (02/24/05)

Diner #2 This is more like the Diners of old, for better or worse. People with a low tolerance for foolishness are advised to skip it. Audio quality still all over the map. And it helps if you know that the low, ominous orchestral moaning is used in the "Terminator" movies to indicate that an unstoppable robot from the future has showed up. If you know what I mean. Also, Dutch radio ads from the 70s. (03/04/05)

Diner #3 Louis Farrakhan (really), some guy named Lester Paul, Gnat orders spaghetti with cheddar cheese, Bent Fabric, and one of the more amazingly casual curses from a 1948 radio show you will ever hear. Like the others, all done on the fly. I could write something this stupid, but why bother when I can do it off the top of my head? (03/17/05)

Diner #4 An exploration of 1970s TV sci-fi music. And so much more! (04/05/05)

Diner #5 Still "lost" in "space." Neener-neener music, 1920s coat-related pop, Kay Kyser's kontinual kopying, and the discovery of the other Diner after the Doomsday Machine hit it. If you know what I mean. Go here to download. You might want to hit play then pause, and let 'er load; it's a 33 MB file lasting 36 minutes. I do go on.

Diner #5 Summertime manual-reading time-travel. (06/22/05)

(The Diner illustration is by Tom Dolan, from a late 80s City Pages piece I wrote.)
