The buildings were demolished in 1998. I took pictures. They've been strung together here in crude, unsatisfying time-lapse photography movies.

That's the Thorpe.

The facade of the Thorpe was mauled by brutes, so no one really mourned its loss.

 

     
 

All three buildings doing down at once changed the street for good, and not for the better. The parking ramp's okay, but it's a parking ramp - and one big building instead of three unrelated structures diminished the visual interest of Marquette.

To state the absolutely obvious, of course.
