The backside of the Plaza, with a rather scraggly flower garden. This would eventually become the most treacherous intersection in town; known as "the Scissors," it was the intersection of Hennepin and Lyndale, two high-traffic streets that joined with no grace or goodwill. Eventually everything here was razed; a freeway came through, a tunnel was built, huge overpasses constructed . . . and it's still one of the most treacherous intersections in town.
