I hope this postcard is as rare as I think it is, because I was astonished to find it. This is the lobby in the teens, with the murals depicting the voyageurs' journeys. The lobby must have been a rather stern and claustrophobic place, but back then solidity meant prosperity and luxury. No doubt the skylights were lit by electric lamps.
