Hello, late 1940s. They’ve chopped the poles off the top of the building and added new awnings – and banned all auto traffic, apparently. The modern awnings wouldn’t have fooled anyone anyway – it was still an old hotel in all other aspects, but everything looked like it was from the 20s in those days, and no one had the gelt to rehab the exterior of a slab like this.
All that was left was decline, and decline it did.
