Henry Humble of Midlands TX sent this to the the "Outdoor Showcase, The Price is Right" in 1958. He believed the total price was $2,895.00. I hope he won.
As for the Essenel, online reviews say it was a dump in 1957, and one reviewer was surprised to see it was still around in the 21st century. It was named the Driftwood in its latter days. It's gone now, but as of this writing - March 2013 - it is caught between two worlds on Google. The street cameras say it's there; the eye in the sky knows its gone.
Reader Stephen Taylor notes "Apparently David Ferrie spent the night there the weekend JFK was shot." And now it's demolished. You tell me there wasn't a conspiracy.
