Right down the street from the South Pacific: the Shalimar. “Completed n 1952,” it was the “newest and most luxurious Motel in the heart of Miami.” No doubt they sent out operatives to scour the town before they ordered a new batch of cards, just to make sure the assertion was still factually accurate.
“Telephone switchboard service.” Of course! You can just imagine some standard-issue Mabel yanking cords and connecting calls. “Shalimar, please hold. Shalimar, please hold.”
Today: it is no longer the newest and most luxurious Motel in the heart of Miami, but the rooms look neat and the reviews are good. The link shows a picture of a rehabbed sign that suggests the street view on the left may not be current.
