Took a while, but I found it. The street is lined with old motels, and nothing had the A-Frame - but I found something that had the staircase in the right place, and when I hit the “previous year” option, voila.

It’s been remodeled since, and the A-Frame is gone. The old sign is hideous, but I hope it redeemed itself by being animated, from the X to the point of the arrow. Although the X usually indicates "the Spot," and having the lights move away from it suggests you are off course, but . . . never mind.
