TIP TOP, Wolf Point MT

"New in '53" says the back. I suppose that means it's old by '79. The teens driving by joke about the corny name.

Except . . . what's that assemblage above the Tip Top words? Could it possibly be animated neon of a man doffing his topper?

Yes! I googled for other cards, and this one came up. It has the same copy on the back, "new in '53," and the cars are Fifties in appearance. But the sign isn't the same. I think this was the original, and the one above a subsequent alteration.

Would you like additional confusion? Great. Here's the Google AI summary of the place.

The Tip Top Motel, Cafe, & Bakery in Wolf Point, MT, is a historic establishment that began in Hawaii and was moved to its current location in 1965. It includes a 34-room motel, a cafe, bakery, and bar, and is known for a classic pancake recipe and macadamia nut cookies.

And so it is. I conclude that the proprietor bought this place and moved the name to his new motel. Did this Tip Top change names? Perhaps someday we'll find out.
