Rare intersection of motel modernism and Buckaroo Revival. Says this page:
The International Motel was built in the late 50's or early 60's. It was expanded in 1966 and several older buildings were demolished to make room for a new courtyard for the motel. It operated for many years and had a fantastic look. Eventually it went under. I am not sure if it operated under a different name at the end or not. The mentions of the International end in the newspapers in the mid 1970's and the building stood for much longer. By 2009, the building was gone. It is now an empty lot.
The site has two more postcards of the structure, and they're better than the one I have. |
