The pyramid pillars weren't too common, for good reason. I don't think anyonre really liked them, including architects. Not bad for an occasional use, just to be different.

I was spared an endless and fruitless search by Wikipedia:

The George Washington Motor Lodge gained a sense of notoriety in May 1983 as it was the scene of the altercation between pro wrestler Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka and his mistress, Nancy Argentino that resulted in her death.

The motel closed in 1993, and was torn down in 1994. Today a Home Depot is located on the site.
