The dwarfs would be pygmies, I guess - but that's not what we were lead to expect by the opening segment. It describes a dark region of darkest Dark Africa (note: it's dark) that is ruled by Giants, who live behind a Black barrier.
Their riches would enrich a regiment, which is a telling little bit of explorer's history, isn't it?
The Schooner has the usual details - the "electric gun" that can throw a shell two miles, and the "Key-board" by which the craft is operated.
Interesting development at the end: one of the explorers meets a woman, falls in love, and gets married at the end of the story.
