Still in operation. It's named for Clarence Tinker, a Major-General lost over Midway. The base was renamed in his honor in 1948.

It's also the home of the first successful tornado forecast in history. You'd want to forecast those things accurately if you had them from time to time, which they did: the tornadoes of Tinker Field have their own Wikipedia page.
