Henri Charpentier, perhaps? He was a famous chef, and this matchbook could have come from one of his cafes. Or perhaps someone was attempting to trade on his reputation. (See also New York, Pizza, Ray’s.) The prices seem a bit low for Henri's stuff, and it would be tres gauche to put the price on the matchbook. About Pierre Di Bernard and his Continental Orchestra Nightly, history is silent.
