The finest hotel in town. Certainly the tallest: the FM stood seven stories tall in downtown Moorhead. amd was a building of unusual gracelessness. But a landmark nonetheless.

As kids, we thought the FM stood for Fargo-Moorhead. Made sense; FM was standard shorthand for the area. The fact that it was named something else and still had FM as its initials was a mind-blowing coincidence.
