The word “trade" for “do business with or at” has left the vernacular. No one says “i’ve been trading at that store for years.” They say they shop there.
Thanks to a Newspapers.com hit - subscription only, alas - I learned it was at Bolton and White. It still exists in its original form, more or less. Except it doesn't sell gas anymore.
