Gas, oil, welding. Not most people’s third need today, but you had to provide a variety of services to the community if you were the only gas station in Bradford.
There may have been another, but given the size of Bradford today – it would have to increase its population a hundredfold to justify a yellow traffic light – that seems unlikely.
The gas was named for Route 66, supposedly. The company was testing a new gas on 66, and the car hit 66, and the name was obvious to all. Perhaps. Maybe they had two bottles of Rolling Rock in a cooler in the back.
