The Five O'clock's street had more than a few bars, but it wasn't necessarily a drinking district. The serious drinking took place a few blocks closer to the train station and the Mississippi, down in the flophouse district. This street had a few show bars where you could hear a tune while you tippled.
The address is strange - supposedly it's the Powers Department Store site, and I've no evidence there was a drinkery tucked in the side.
