This ad comes from a thick compendium of Missouri delights: the Lake of the Ozark Resort Annual. I present it not to rib the fine citizens of the region - although that will be done with cruel glee, of course - but to point out how unbelievably ugly things were in the early 70s, and how all forms of nostalgia for that decade can be empirically proven to be mistaken.
