Sad Sack: loved by millions! When you have to say that on the cover it means most kids are standing in the drug store looking at the comic thinking “he doesn’t have any powers and I don’t know who this is and maybe it’s a war comic those are cool but this looks like it’s supposed to be funny.”
Sad Sack began in WW2, and continued in newspaper syndication after the cessation of hostilities. The proto-Beetle Bailey, I guess. They made a movie version, with Jerry Lewis as the Sad Sack; it also starred Peter Lorre.
