No, it’s not what it seems. Look at the book. Why people would want to confuse their neighbors, I don’t know; confused people do stupid things. You could say Henry was confused, but I don’t think so. Henry Aldrich was a long-running mid-century character – from the stage in 1939 to radio, movies, TV, and – towards the end – this comic book. Critics have noted he was one of the first teens in American popular culture to be, well, a teen, so we have him to blame for the celebration of adolescence that followed, and never abated.
