Captain Archetype! Every boy knew the characters: the solder, the cowboy, the urban guy who knew al the angles, the explorer, the aviator, the sailor, and, in the center, the high-as-a-frickin’-kite stoner.
The cover’s by Leslie Turner, who drew the strip for years. Lest you think it was just a standard adventure yarn: dig this. (It appears to be continued here.)
The strip started in 1933 and ran until 1988. Turner had passed along the strip to someone else years before, but he too expired in ’88.
