1941. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Lancaster County Seed Company of Paradise, PA was connected somehow to the American Seed Company of Lancaster, PA. Both sold seeds, had comic ads - and, as it turns out, Promptness Prizes!
Look how the prizes have changed: a violin GIVEN instead of an electric guitar; a barber kit - GIVEN, I might add. A live Canary. My favorite prize, which must have driven the kids wild with anticipation:
