There’s nothing on the web about Goodman Ice Cream, but I assume they deployed an army of men to comb the land, judging all the Places in a particular district, grading them, putting them on a sliding scale, and thereby ensuring Goodman Ice Cream was only sold in the better places, i.e., those in the top 50 percent.
Unless selling Goodman automatically ensured that a Place was a better Place. Probably so. Cheaper.
