For the children: bedspreads designed to keep them awake all night. They're from the Joyce Miller collection, who was apparently a sightless old lady. She designed two of these; who deserves blame for the third, I don't know.

Judging from the illustrations, rooms were a bit smaller in 1973. Take care getting out of bed, sweetheart, lest you fall right through the plate glass window. Note also the prison-comfy beds. They weren't made up so much as they were smoothed off with a trowel. |
