Lionel's life gets worse and worse, as we learn:

A) he doesn't try very hard to escape preternaturally activated four-year olds, and

B) his second job consisted not of putting meat in the ground but putting it on a fire.

Also, he's obviously a sociopath who cannot tell the truth.
