Hmmm.The pink facade is gone, and the windows look different. It’s possible the postcard was wrong, but they usually worked from photos; it’s also possible that the pink hue looked out of date by the forties, and they slapped on another front - but the picture above looks like something from the 30s.

Like the Black Building elevator doors, those letters had great appeal to me as a kid; there was something exotic about their slender shapes. Letters like that make you want to take up smoking and book passage to Paris.
