Dog Path
He’s probably too old to romp without care or heed. He’s made his own paths in the backyard, and sticks to them.

Untold Riches Await You

Dog in the snow picture — I thought I was reading dooce.com for a minute.
You really should write Jasper’s memoirs. I’ve been reading about him for years, but it would be cool to have all that and more in hardcover.
A great coffee table book, Jasper always seems so dignified, even at play.
There’s a book out called “Old Dogs Are the Best Dogs.” It’s full of great photos of dogs who, like me, think napping is at least as important as frolicking.
I think Jasper should have his own site under the lileks.com megasite: http://www.jasper.com/barks/
He looks like he’s thinking: “All these years they’ve made me come out and do my business in all weather… in the snow even! While they use that nice, warm little room with the big, dog-friendly water dish. Why, huh? Why?”
Hearing about and seeing Jasper has been one of my favorite parts of lileks.com for the best part of a decade. That’s a beautiful pic, James.
May he live forever!
Jasper is such a cool-looking dog. I love those ears.
Our 18-month-old lab/pug cross has his paths in the yard too, except every once in awhile, he’ll look around to make sure we’re watching him and then go tearing around, kangarooing over the drifts.
Thank you for the Jasper photo. My husband sent me Jasper’s photo while I was at work one day several years ago, and I’ve been with Lileks ever since. Jasper is magnifcent.
It’s evident from his expression that Jasper is a deep thinker-a dog’s dog. I always enjoy seeing pics of the big guy. He doesn’t need a make-over, a bailout, or hope and change. He is a wonder dog.
Actually, he looks like he’s rolling his eyes and muttering, “Please put the camera away.”
I love Jasper, who surpasses even Oliver and Hugo when it comes to character.
Oliver & Hugo: http://www.textism.com/oliver/daily
He’s probably eyeing a squirrel and thinking “I coulda gotten him, back in the day”
My dog sticks to his trench in the snow, but there’s about a foot of snow and he’s not much more than a foot tall.
Jasper looks like a very sleek and well-fed coyote. I love those ears. My stepson has a dog part shepherd and part black lab. He has those big ears. but is certainly not dignified. He leaps after his own tail (sometimes in mid run which ends up in a spectacular crash) and chases dirt bikes.
i agree with BeckoningChasm, Jasper needs a memoir. i certainly would read it.
Good old Jasper. He really seems like a great dog. Our dogs seem to off kilter compared to him
Jasper is my virtual dog. More Jasper please?
A memoir would be wonderful too.
