    Bleat seems to be twitchy today, at least for me.

  2. hpoulter says:

    ??? a whole bunch of comments just fell into the void.

  3. Lileks says:

    That’s odd. I believe the site is migrating to another server today, which may explain the lost comments. Nothing was shunted over to spam, or deleted.

  4. Mr_Lilacs says:

    A two-digit phone number — there were lots folks availing themselves of the best in lubrication.

  5. hpoulter says:

    At least it ate my annoying experimental comments (I sure miss the media-embedding features of the Buzz). Anyway, in reference to a nasty remark about Rep. Waxman made earlier, click on my name for a “Separated at Birth” picture (I know, shame on me).

  6. yes, I had a comment disappeared in to the Ethernet as well. Serves me right trying to say something nice to Al Federber (hah, I finally got the obscure reference for that name).

    I feel dissed, Joe Sixpack keeps his duplicated posts and I am roadkill.

    :(

  7. Nancy says:

    I always use my comment as a place-marker and it has disappeared. That explains it!

  8. Droptma Styx says:

    No Hugo Chavez cracks?

    hpoulter, that was an unfair and vicious smear on the fine creature on the left of that picture. Shame on you indeed.

  10. hpoulter says:

    I know, but the resemblance is uncanny.

  11. Nosferatu!

    (has to be said admonishing in SpongeBob Squarepants voice)

    @bgbear (roger h)
    Yeah, I discovered Al’s Nom de Blog was from Ace in the Hole a while back. I have even occasionally called him a variation of that, I think (just kidding!)

    What a nice Monday matchbook. My mother’s family is from Northwood and some of our relatives are related to the Uglems. Northwood was hit hard by a tornado 2 years ago.

  14. Bridey says:

    @hpoulter

    I agree, it’s a striking resemblance! But the other creature may be a bit less effective as a bloodsucker. (I have the dubious privilege of living in Mr. Waxman’s district.)

  15. rbj says:

    #3 Ah, thanks James.

    Is this the annual fall migration of the site? I suppose there isn’t a hunting season.

  16. Nancy says:

    @Bridey
    Condolences!

  17. Bridey says:

    @Nancy

    Thanks — California seems to vote with the general idea of ensuring that no one will miss us when we finally crumble into the sea.
