I’ve read before that this is considered the inspiration for Ridley Scott’s “Alien”, but I have posited a few times that it gave a lot of inspiration to Irwin Allen.
Just watch the movie, it plays out like a typical episode of “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” and with the Paul Sawtell music it even feels like one.
I can only suppose that our greatest science fiction producer/director took a look at this and thought; “you know, if it were on a submarine instead of a hookie old spaceship…”
